Sharpening Services

A sharp knife is definitely better than a dull one - especially if it’s chipped, tipped, or needs a little thinning. I sharpen everything the old-fashioned way, by hand. Using Japanese water stones and accessories, I'll make sure your blade is nice and crisp before returning it to you. Got a knife that needs some work? Check out my services below and choose the ones that work for best for you.

Do you own a chef knife from the world renowned Takeda-San blacksmith in Japan, but don’t know where to get it sharpened? Well, you’ve come to the right place, because I can make his knives a dream to use again. Since his knives are masterfully forged thin, they essentially require a mini thinning service to bring them back to life.

I have used Alton for sharpening new knives to set the standard of sharpness, repaired chips, restored neglected knives to pristine, sharp condition, spent hours thinning an unique Takagi honyaki santoku from a good to an exceptional knife. He sharpened a new Moritaka so much I kept nicking my fingers on the chin edge by barely tipping it. He does good work.
